John Green



-born August 24, 1977
-He won the 2006 Printz Award for his debut novel, Looking for Alaska
-Reading books changed John’s entire outlook on the world, and now he’s writing books that change the outlook of his readers’ lives as well.
-His biggest challenge in life is balancing work, obligations and family life.
-He dicide the name of Alaska (in looking for Alaska) because: “Initially I liked it because of the Velvet Underground song “Stephanie Says,” which features a character called Alaska who is “between worlds.” But then I looked up what the word actually means, “that which the sea breaks against,” which struck me as very beautiful and relevant to Alaska’s experience.”
- He really enjoy build communities that can tackle projects
- “I tried to write a straight comic novel with Katherines, and I don’t know if I’ll ever get any closer than that. I don’t really like humor that’s kidding; to me, the funniest books are also the most serious”
- The initial concept of The Fault in our stars was like The club of fight
-He has a blog with his brother
-He celebrates the “Esther Day” the 3 of August
